For over a century Lima's kitchens have blended European craft with Peruvian ingredients. In the early 1900s, waves of Italian immigrants — bakers, pastry chefs, shopkeepers — sailed into Callao and made Lima their home. They brought chocolate, hazelnut, and the Old World pastry tradition. Peruvians gave back dulce de leche, native cacao, and a love of celebration. The marriage of the two became its own thing.
Our family grew up inside that tradition. Dolce Canalle is our way of carrying it to a Grand Rapids doorstep.
